Thousands cast their vote in ProgressOhio's "Grinch of the Year" contest, and we have a winner.
It was a tough fight. The winner beat out finalists Senator George Voinovich, Congressman Steve Chabot, "Citizens for Community Values" leader Phil Burress, and 33 other nominees.
Voters made a strong case for this Grinch
Among the reasons he deserves the award:
"...for his comments that the deaths of American troops in Iraq are a 'small price to pay.' - Judy, Cuyahoga county
"...because no intelligent person could parrot the reprehensible swill that comes out of his mouth in the name of conservative politics. He has supported attacks on our Constitution, undermined the laws of this country, supported tourture and every policy spun by the Bush White House." - John, Hancock county
"...for voting with President Bush against every bill which would help any American; e.g. SCHIP, and crying on the floor of the House while trying to get other Representatives to vote FOR war funding." - Rebecca, Butler county
Without further ado....(drumroll please)
