Yesterday afternoon, I got an email update from the folks at truthout.org about the Libby Trial. A bombshell we all knew was coming but it was nice to have some written evidence to the fact. One that could maybe put ITMFA back on the table for this Congress. I was working from my folks' place yesterday, so excited, I said to my mom, "Hey, put on MSNBC, they have to be covering this" and of course, there was coverage about "devices" in "Boston". Frustrated, I turned it off. Could this be another incident to add to Keith Olbermann's list of "terror threats" to silence bad stories coming to light? I think Keith and Dr. Maddow would be proud of me today...
Proud of us all for seeing this connection.
As we all know by now, in his "meat grinder" note of assurance to Libby, Darth Cheney, contained a key phrase previously not mentioned "this pres" with a line through it. The implications of what that means are pretty obvious, especially given the intent of the note, which was to assuage Libby's fears that he wouldn't be set up for doing the administration's dirty work. Now we have evidence beyond our own thoughts that Bush must have known, at the very least, that Libby was out there trying to smear Ambassador Wilson. It makes me wonder why the defense team was trying to throw out people who didn't like the Bush Administration. If their whole defense is Throw Bush and Rove down the well, wouldn't you want people who hated those folks on your jury?
I digress. My point is this: WHERE IS THE COVERAGE OF THIS STORY?!
Not in the Judy Miller Times, Not in the Washington Post, Not in the LA Times. Our liberal media at work.
Could it be that the media was so focused on the AquaTeenHungerBombs that it completely ignored the actual bombshell of the day?
It would be like OJ's "If I did it" book coming out during the trial. If you haven't seen or heard about the phrase, check out the link from truthout here. Here's a piece from the story:
Cheney's notes seem to help bolster Wells's defense strategy. Libby's defense team first discussed the notes - written by Cheney in September 2003 for White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan - during opening statements last week. Wells said Cheney had written "not going to protect one staffer and sacrifice the guy that was asked to stick his head in the meat grinder because of incompetence of others": a reference to Libby being asked to deal with the media and vociferously rebut Wilson's allegations that the Bush administration knowingly "twisted" intelligence to win support for the war in Iraq.
However, when Cheney wrote the notes, he had originally written "this Pres." instead of "that was."

Further, the statement from Shirley Powell of Turner leaves something further to be considered:
They have been in place for two to three weeks in Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, Portland, Austin, San Francisco and Philadelphia. Parent company Turner Broadcasting is in contact with local and federal law enforcement on the exact locations of the billboards. We regret that they were mistakenly thought to pose any danger.
Right. 2 to 3 weeks. And on the day it's discovered that the President knew more about the outing of Valerie Plame than he's admitted, that's the day they're discovered in a panic in Boston?
Isn't this a little too coincidental?
Fool me once, shame on.... you?
