His title is slightly softer, but that is the essence of it. His column today ends with this:
While Democrats roar, the generals are silent -- in public. Many confide that they will not cast their normal Republican votes on Nov. 2. They cannot bring themselves to vote for John Kerry, who has been a consistent Senate vote against the military. But they say they are unable to vote for Don Rumsfeld's boss, and so will not vote at all.
Generals are not a huge demographic, but you have to wonder how much this disgust will filter down the chain of command - not to mention that the troops are seeing the debacle first-hand, or hearing about it from comrades who have.
Meanwhile, the LA Times has an analysis piece entitled "Bush Presidency Could be Ultimate Casualty of War." Among other tidbits, the piece quotes a guy from the talk-radio trade magazine saying that he thinks the right-wing radio hosts are liable to start jumping ship.
