Here's a chance to help the cause of Fair elections.
The (Republican) Secretary of State of AZ released a new "Voting Plan" for public comment on 12/20.
I plan to submit comments once I read the whole thing. (120 pages or so!) I am meeting with a local "fair elections" activist tomorrow, to pool our comments so if anyone would like to make comments, great!
The Action Plan is available for a 30-day public review before it is finalized by the Secretary of State's Office. Comments will be taken through January 20, 2005. Copies of the plan are available at the Secretary of State's Web site, www.azsos.gov or by calling the Election Services Division at 602-542-8683, statewide 1-877-THE VOTE. Most of the recommendations in the plan will be implemented in time for the 2006 Federal Elections.
It would be great if you are an expert in any way, or live in Arizona, or are affilated with an organization & want to give official comments... send an email to: fairelectionsaz@yahoo.com so I can get contact info...
What I would like most are
specific comments which pertain to the report not random noise :)
My initial sense is that its not too bad. But has room for improvement.
