I live in Alaska.
The weekend before the election, while channel surfing, I got the weekly evangelical program that goes out on our ABC affiliate. Here's what was truly odd:
Instead of the usual stage for the weekly bible-thumping,they had several podiums set up and Senator Stevens, and the nepotism appointment now senator-elect, Lisa Murkowski, and maybe even Rep. Don Young was there. And they were being praised and prayed for by the TV evangelist and the big audience that his giant state-of-the-art video church holds and by the tv audience at home.
At the time I thought "Wow that's odd!" but the significance didn't register till the voting was over and the evangelical vote was being credited as the killer voter block.
This was a free 1+hour commercial for the Repugs with the God Seal of Approval. Are there any regulations on what these stations can do? Are they subject to any regulations?
