Josh Marshall posted
some interesting poll numbers from Kentucky that were taken
by the Chandler campaign when they were polling to assess the
political climate for the special election for the U.S. House.
These are numbers from Kentucky's 6th congressional district
which Marshall describes as "fairly Democrat-friendly".
The Democratic polling firm also asked voters what they thought
of Dean. The poll numbers for Dean are surprising. A clear
majority of those polled had an unfavorable or neutral opinion of
Dean with only 5% having a strongly favorable opinion. The
highest percentage was very unfavorable with 29%.
It will be interesting when some numbers are available from other
Southern states.
Howard Dean
very favorable 5%
somewhat favorable 17%
somewhat unforavable 12%
very unfavorable 29%
don't know 29%
never heard of 9%
