Wes Clark's vision of international cooperation in the WaPo article today was inspiring, if perhaps overly optimistic. It certainly seems proactive, at least, which is a good thing.
Howard Dean, who I supported fully, didn't exactly present an alternative strategy in Iraq when he ran, other than to promote the idea of a fresh start with fresh leadership which he seemed to think would bring fresh international cooperation. Clark's ideas seem to build on that with more specifics.
It was a disappointment when Kerry was on the clock that France and Germany pointedly pooh-poohed the idea that they would help a different administration any differently. That was a subtle but key point working against Kerry, I feared at the time.
So, at this point, we seem to have some serious internal divisions about what to do next. I'm curious how the community at large in Kos-land feel about our options.
