I hope Spring is pumping wherever you're reading. This amazing planet....
I found an old diary. A short one. It's from before the election, when we were still stuck in the 109th. Food for thought.

There's a little commentary on the jump if you have time.
As for today, we have to remember that running up to the recent election Lou Dobbs and other MSM broadcasters ran stories about the problem of electronic voting. Then, post-election, the front page/screen were all about how great the Democrat win was. Today there's legislation on the table to create a brand-new and permanent voting machine lobby. This will effectively obliterate the vote.
I really hope some Kossacks take a look. I really don't think we have much longer than this year to jump to the other track.
Other track? I mean the mouse-trap is being built, and they still need time. The status quo needs to be broken, so it can be reformed. No amount of legislation coming out of the current Congress--and I don't mean the 110th--I mean the branch in general: the first branch: it's broken. To say the Congress is broken means it's not gonna limit itself or any part of the federal government. The individuals who people the federal government, and the individuals who make sure vested interests fund both Republican and Democrat alike, are not going to secure the vote from private interests. To do so is anathema to them. Well, that's fine, they have a right to an opinion, but they don't own the vote.
I believe the Democrats--not the majority currently sitting--but the real Democrats of this country--people like me--I say we take back our party and the nation in one fell swoop. The Republicans might finally realize we were right all along (about most stuff) and we can go back to living our lives and let our votes do the talking.

The more friends of the Article V Convention we have is a "the sooner the better," type deal.
