We should really get MSM to focus on why Bush really, cynically invaded Iraq:
1. It wasn't to control or seize the oil (this is too simplistic)
2. I wasn't about Isreal;
3. It wasn't about democracy in Middle East
4. I doubt it was about permanent bases in Iraq, although it probably was in part wanting to have some type of potential toe hold, or at least friendly government, in Middle East
5. It certainly wasn't about MWD's (this was a convenient excuse)
I really believe it was simply-
1. He hated Sadam for trying to Nuke his dad; he thus saw Sadam and his subordinates as "evil";
2. It was a way to be a "war" president, especially after 9/11 and inability to catch UBL
3. It was a way to pursue a forward pushing foreign policy to be the agressor rather than negotiate between all sides on foreign policy;
4. It appeared to be a relatively easy, winable war.
The most important point, to put it all in perspective: it wasnt about oil, or secret geopolitical conpiracies, it was for a crass, domestic political advantage- to win over the red and purple states in the US as a war president (Items 2 and 3) and for his own selfish reasons (item 1)
Thats why its so reprehensible; and why main street media should call him on it.
