The last chance to save ANWR is upon us. The last vote that can save ANWR will most likely take place within the next few days. The bill is the FY 2006 House Budget Reconciliation bill. I have included several links for you to take action at several different sites. Please take action and save one of our last untouched wild places.
Links after the fold...
Take Action at
Earthjustice.
Take Action by signing a petition at The Sierra Club. Once you sign the petition here another page will come up that thanks you and offers you several other action items you can participate in, including spreading the word to friends/family and sending individual letters.
Take Action at The Union of Concerned Scientists.
Take Action at Save The Arctic. This site is a project of PIRG (Public Interest Research Group). There is a PIRG in each State.
Another thing you can do is email oil corporations and ask them to pledge NOT to drill in ANWR even if it is opened up for drilling. For anyone who doesn't know WHY we should save ANWR, I'll direct you to read through each of the letters (before signing, which you hopefully do anyway). And to anyone who says it doesn't matter or they don't care...well, I'll remember that when someone wants to drill in your backyard and you're looking for help. I'll help you anyway, but you'll sure as hell get some dirty looks from me and an "I told you so" as I'm helping...so there!
And...anyone who answers with the first option in the poll gets MAJOR props from me and my eternal love and thanks for doing the best you can to save a beautiful place.
