Huh... did I just reinvent dKos? Probly someone already had this idea... but it seemed such a paradigm shift, that I had to post a diary.
Do you guys ever get tired of how when you have really long conversations (arguments) with someone, how the lines of the text become absurdly short. Eventually, it's like 1 word per line.
For me, this seems like the most glaring and critical design flaw at DailyKos... and it's only gotten a lot worse with the new widths.
I think we've all just assumed that's how the text works here. But what if there was a way around it?
Here's my proposal for Kos 4.0.
Notice the scrollable text boxes so that RECOMMENDED AND RECENT DIARIES are always visible. In essence, this design removes the necessity to ever use the Firefox scrollbars.
And... if we add horizontal scrollbars to just the diary text box... it's a whole new world isn't it?
Just imagine... every single post could potentially have the same width... you could go on chatting forever and new people would still pick up the discussions at the beginning because the text box always updates to the far left!
Is this the next big advance on the horizon for Kos? God, I hope it's part of it.
