According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer,
Ohio Republican candidate for Governor Kenneth Blackwell is using a neocon affiliated advertising agency to conduct push polls against his challenger in the Republican primary.
A recent spate of calls never mentioned Blackwells name, but asked several leading questions about his challenger, attorney general Jim Petro, including Petro's:
"horrible track record," his alleged fund-raising ties to "favored GOP whipping-boy Bill Clinton" and his being "part of the problem in Columbus."
Friks rant is continued below...
Now I'm certain whoever these wingnuts are calling, they do not really need to be reminded that Bill Clinton is the "favored GOP whipping boy". I mean thats perfectly obvious to any person with the political acumem of a well trained parrot. (And it's also perfectly obvious how effective all this has been to Mr. Clintons reputation.) As to being "part of the problem in Columbus", it seems perfectly clear that this can be layed at the feet of the Republican party as a whole. And last I checked that party included Kenneth Blackwell. Who's track record in handling elections has made him the favored whipping boy of many Democrats let us duly note.
These push polls are being conducted by an outfit described thusly in the story:
Telephone work... is being conducted by ccAdvertising, a national research firm that has worked for anti-tax guru Grover Norquist, the National Rifle Association, Right to Life and other conservative causes. Business filings list its chairman as Don Hodel, a veteran of the Reagan administration and former president of Focus on the Family.
Blackwell's campaign has paid almost $15,000 since last year to ccAdvertising, which touts a patent-pending, two-way interactive voice technology in collecting its information.
With the players listed in this outfit one can only wonder how many accumulated years in jail we are looking at for the lot of them after Jack Abramoff rats out the entire neocon universe.
So just to be fair, following is my own push poll about Kenneth Blackwell. Jim Petro would be well served to come back swinging on this so I hereby give him permission to use this poll if he wishes.
