I got one of these "joke" forwards from a co-worker today, you know... one of those ones that really aren't very funny, aren't especially well written and usually are only forwarded to support a certain world view?
Here it is:
>This was sent to me by a dear friend who's son is Iraq. It's great to see
>she still has some humor left in her.
>
>
>There have been an average of 160,000 troops in IRAQ during the last 22
>months, which has a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000. The rate in
>Washington D.C. is 80.6 per 100,000. That means that you are 25% more
>likely to be shot and killed in our Nation's Capitol, which has some of the
>strictest gun control laws in the nation, than you a re in Iraq.
>
>CONCLUSION:
>
>We should immediately pull out of Washington, D.C.!
Ok, I barely know where to being on this one, and since I was out yesterday on vacation I don't have the time to do all of the research myself, so I thought it might be fun to punt it over to Dailykos to debunk this BS.
Anybody up for the challenge?
