A local radio station is betting that Valley listeners are ready to move a little left of center, as liberal talk network Air America Radio arrives Thursday in the Valley.

Air America programming began airing at midnight on KXXT (1010 AM). The shows include such left-leaning fare as The Majority Report, hosted by actress Janeane Garofalo and Sam Seder, and The Randi Rhodes Show, featuring the outspoken radio vet.
In a bit of irony, the new format bumps conservative talkers off KXXT, including controversial Michael Savage.
An Internet rumor posted yesterday, saying a San Francisco station would flip to Air America soon and possibly as early as next week, gained credence as it was backed up today by (subscription-only) industry publication Inside Radio:
We're expecting a San Francisco progressive talker to be announced soon, to go with recent additions in markets like San Diego and Atlanta.
And Franken said on his show today that he'd be on in DC "soon." No word on the station, though Clear Channel has a couple of struggling AM's in the market.
If you're still waiting for Air America in your area, check to make sure it's not there yet. There have been a lot of recent additions, and there are more cities on the way.
