Please don't freak out about the subject matter: I believe this is important.
I was talking to a friend who believes they have a self-esteem problem, and who admitted to me that they have suicidal thoughts at times. It got me thinking: I've always had pretty high self-esteem, and often strike people as a pretty self-confident person. Nevertheless, I have thought of suicide at times. I wonder how much it is a part of human nature. I am a passionate person, and things can get very overwhelming at times. Luckily, I have a deeply reliable support network for those trying times. But I wanted to put up this poll to see how pervasive this kind of thing actually is, especially among people that are known for being passionate about things, i.e. Kossacks.
