Republicans and White House (Trudblossom) think so. They think it's the winning political strategy on Iraq for the 06 elections.
Top story on the NY Times website:
G.O.P. Decides to Embrace War as Issue
The completely bankrupt RepublicSCUM strategy is summarized in the story:
The meetings were followed by the distribution of a 74-page briefing book to Congressional offices from the Pentagon to provide ammunition for what White House officials say will be a central line of attack against Democrats from now through the midterm elections: that the withdrawal being advocated by Democrats would mean thousands of troops would have died for nothing, would give extremists a launching pad from which to build an Islamo-fascist empire and would hand the United States its must humiliating defeat since Vietnam.

I'm outraged by the audacity of the RepublicSCUMS. The RepublicSCUMS are taking the worst strategic disaster in American history and trying to turn it into a winning issue. They can only get away with it if the Democrats let them. Democratic Senators - please don't use the term `cut and run' when debating the issue, because that's the sound bite that will show up on the network news.

The Bush/RepublicSCUM argument is hollow, because the central line of attack in it has already come to pass. Bush has turned Iraq into an Islamic state.
I framed what I think is a winning strategy yesterday:
Bush has LOST Iraq, because Iraq is becoming an Islamic state - a pro-Iranian Islamic state. It doesn't matter if there have been elections. There are no strong democratic institutions in the government. It is essentially controlled by Islamists who desire an Islamic state that is primarily ruled by Islamic law. Why are Americans dying and why is our treasure being wasted on the creation of an Islamic stated? Make the Republicans defend that. Know what - if you frame the debate that way, they can't defend the President.

My position is Bush lied us in and has lost Iraq; therefore it's time for an immediate withdrawal.
