Yesterday, I went to the Dean training camp with 120 or so people from IL, MN, IN, OH, and WI. I've never been involved in a political campaign of any kind before, and I was pretty impressed with the machine that is being created. People talk a lot about electability here, but you know what? Electability means getting the most votes on election day. Nothing else. The Illinois primary isn't until March, and we're already training for canvassing, GOTV, trips to Iowa, etc.
In the Chicago Trib today, there is a lame column by Don Rose about how Dean is political suicide for Democrats, but I just don't believe it. The motivation in the room yesterday was positive. People wanted to improve the country and do good. How is that wrong?
