First of all, I promise to do my own research on this matter. That said, I've an intriguing (hypothetical, of course) matter that I'd like to run by you Con Law dogs out there.
Say a local (say, county) gov't tells its employees that their new employee ID's will consist of "biometric scans" (fingerprint). And say one employee is all "libertarian" about it, maybe even tin foil hat about it, and says that that's an illegal "invasion of privacy." And say that I don't really see where it is, but, on the other hand, would love to make such county gov't squirm. Now I think that if such hypothetical employee were to complain publically, say in the form of an LTE and he was fired for that, we've got a nice little First Amend case.
But on the "privacy interest", any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any comments, or cites.
