I don't think the occupation of the police stations was pure publicity stunt. I think it's the beginning of open resistance (I mean teenagers with rocks, gaza style) to the movements of the U.S. troops in Iraq. I think we had an insurgency and a low-scale guerilla war. Now I think we have a huge guerilla war coming, and every possibility of open civil war.
Even if Bush loses, will we be able to recover from this?
As a side note, CNN, which reported both the RPG attack and the police staiton takeovers, (i.e., a massive escalation in open, undeniably native-Iraqi resistance) had Wolf on still talking Fallujah. Not one follow up with anyone in Iraq about what was actually going on there.
