If this nation ever turns its back on the aggression and imperialist aims of the Bush administration it will be in good measure due to the determined action of young people - in particular the selfless acts of university students. Right now students at several universities (San Francisco State University, UC Santa Clara, Holyoke Community College (MA), Kent State, Hampton University (VA), Madison/Wisconsin and Pace) face sanctions and repression by college administrators for their peaceful protests.
You can help these students.
"Dissent is the native activity of the scientist, and it has got him into a good deal of trouble in the last years. But if that is cut off, what is left will not be a scientist. And I doubt whether it will be a man." Jacob Bronowski
"Has there ever been a society which has died of dissent? Several have died of conformity in our lifetime." Jacob Bronowski
California university administrations have clamped down on student protesters at UC Santa Clara (where military recruiters left campus in the face of 150 student protesters) and now at San Francisco State University, where 10 students have been banned from campus for 14 days without a hearing.
This violation of the free speech of students at SFSU is outrageous! Call or email President Corrigan and demand that the 10 students who have been barred be allowed back on campus!
These students need our support. You can compose your own letter, but here's an e-mail that I sent to Robert Corrigan, president of SFSU, as something of an example:

President Robert Corrigan:
I am apalled at the repressive acts the San Francisco State University administration has taken against the peaceful protests of students at your University.

STUDENTS AT SAN FRANCISCO STATE UNIVERSITY DETAINED BY POLICE FOR CHANTING "MILITARY RECRUITERS GO HOME!"
Please lift this ban. Rather than stifling peaceful dissent I ask that you encourage and promote it in every way available to you and the university.
Cordially,
