In the lightning fast world of the blogosphere, sometimes it's good to spend a little time reflecting on our collective past. In the spirit of the holidays, I thought I would visit legacy dkos to see what was being discussed this time last year. Ah, for those innocent days when I was just a lurker and not a poster!
Here's the first comment ever on a Cattle Call Thread:
"What about Wesley Clark?

This is one of my favorites:
"Dean may be barely above an asterisk in the polls, but his support sure is intense on the Internet! The question is, can he mobilize his supporters? I've been on his campaign e-mail list for months and haven't heard a peep from him. Hopefully by the time he officially announces next month, he'll have his act together.

Oh, the things that can happen in just one
year:
"Well, Gore is out. We'll have plenty of time to analyze the decision, and what it means for the Democratic Party over the next two years.
But did he have to announce this today? He's just knocked Lott off the front page."-kos
Some topics never get old:
"Southern anti-Americanism
At a time when any criticism of Bush's war effort is met with charges of anti-Americanism, how do Southerners get away with celebrating the Confederacy?
What can be more un-American than wearing the symbol of the rebel group that sought to destroy the United States, and build a new nation based on the subjugation of an entire race?
Put a little differently -- what is the difference between wearing a Confederate flag, and wearing a t-shirt with Osama Bin Laden's mug on it? Or, to be ultra contemporary, an Iraqi flag? All three represent enemies of the United States.
So once again, how do Dixie lovers get away with it?"-kos
And, perhaps the best one of all:
"Zell's Out
Thanks to AC, we find out now that Zell Miller is not running for reelection. Will Max Cleland get another shot, or Roy Barnes?

Oh, for the times now past! If only I had never joined in that Nader-Gore flame war sometime in early April or whenever, and just kept my mouth shut. Maybe then I wouldn't be a crotchedy old miser, worried only about the ECC and cared for by none.
Spirits, I can change! I can change!
