It seems whether we like it or not, liberals, if they have any interest in governing this fine nation of ours, will have to take on many of the characteristics of "movement conservatives." Complete with propaganda, true-believers, and a driving sense of urgency. Al Franken, Howard Dean, MoveOn.org and Kos himself, all are signs that a critical mass of anti-conservative sentiment is coalescing and beginning to define itself. What does this mean? What defines a "movement liberal"? In what ways is similar/different, weaker/stronger than the conservative movement? What's at the top of the agenda and what are the side dishes? Who are our intellectual founders, popular spokesman, and political avatars? What lessons must we learn from history and what innovations will we need to compete in the future? Where are the potential rifts and the potential rallying points? And what effect, in the end will all of this have on American politics in the 21st century?
