I've finally worked it out. Why Lieberman gets under my skin so much, why he's always grating on my nerves.
It's not because he's attacking popular culture. Or because he's attacking Howard Dean.
It's because he's attacking me.
Take his comments last week on Dean being in his own "spider-hole of denial" for claiming that capturing Saddam doesn't make American safer.
Excuse me? I happen to agree with Dean -- and according to polls, I'm not alone -- and you just told me I had my head up my ass.
Not the way to win my vote, Joe. Perhaps, and this is only a suggestion, you should try to avoid insulting the people whose votes you need. Maybe Clinton didn't make this clear, but you can't Sister Soljah you entire potential voting pool.
So that's it: Joe gets on my nerves because, for one reason or another, his denouncements of other Democrats tend to feel aimed directly at me. And I just don't like voting for people who insult me.
