There are many, many diaries on Bush. He is the so-called President. The so-called leader of the Republican Party. There are certainly many reasons to hate the man. He represents our country poorly. Lies on a regular basis. He started a war needlessly and doesn't care to find an end to it. The list goes on and on. You know it better than I.
But I wonder if this is exactly how the Republicans like it. I would say they like it when the liberals obssess over a man who will be out of power in the near future. They know Bush is most likely not running for any elected office again.
"Let Bush be the scapegoat for our poor decisions and political corruption." This must be the thinking of the Republican leaders. The Repblicans are all fine and dandy with Bush taking the heat. Better him than anyone else.
Oh, we throw stones at Rumsfeld and Cheney but they are all under the Bush administration. I don't thinking we are casting enough doubt on current Repubclican canidates.
Anyone else live in a state where a Democratic Senate seat may become a Republican Senate seat in 2006?
I do. I live in Minnesota and Mark Kennedy is an extremely strong canidate from the Republican Party. I am highly concerned about his election. Minnesota has been a fairly liberal state in the past but we have a Republican Governor and Senator already. I absolutely do not want another Republican representing me in the Senate. And I am not going to move so I need to help a Democrat get elected. I have not reviewed all of the DFL canidates yet but I like Amy Klobuchar very much so far.
The Deomcratic Party needs to get back to having the majority in the Senate in 2006.
We need to be writing less about our lame-duck, drowning-in the-polls President and more about the the senate and house races in 2006.
And we can keep writing about the Presidential race in 2008. I actually like the polls about it. I am a huge Mark Warner fan and think his chances are excellent in terms of the general election.
George Bush is not going to be impeached. Besides, we have more important fish to fry. We need to focus on the future of this country and how we are going to take serious steps to put forth progressive legislation that protects the poor, elderly, working-class, the earth, etc.
We cannot get the legislation passed without winning some elections.
