The sudden proliferation of diaries about the
pros and
cons of Hillary Clinton for president in 2008 is simply not constructive for the 2006 election cycle. Why are we focused on this?
More on the flip.
Yes, the war is bad. But Hillary Clinton is just one of many Democrats who made that choice, and she will be re-elected with ease. Let her NY voters throw her out if they don't like her stance.
We have two years and a very important mid-term election in the meantime.
So, while I want everyone to be able to talk about whatever they want to, if I had an in with the local meta-god(esse)s, I certainly wish we would focus on any of these for now:
-White House Treason Scandal
-Alito nomination
-talking more about the Democratic congressional platform for 2006
-retaking the House (in 2006!)
-retaking the Senate (in 2006!)
-talking about pressuring Republican donors
-talking about educating fundamentalists in how W is screwing them
-talking about energy policy
In short, talking about everything but the 2008 presidential election. Do we not have enough news to discuss what is currently relevant? I know I can't get enough information about what is going on right now - and I don't care whether Hillary is running in 2008 or not. I'll decide when it becomes relevant to anything.
