There's been a lot of talk about Jim Webb, but I still don't know anything about his platform. I went to his website and could only find two pages of shallow sound bites that offered no solutions to the problems faced by Virginians.
Harris Miller on the other hand, has on his website a lengthly well thought out, credible, intelligent agenda that can beat George Allen's record very easily.
Jim Webb has the support of the D.C. Democratic Senators and powerbase that just voted in favor of General Hayden to continue breaking the law by spying on all Americans who use a phone. Personally, I don't want to vote for "more of the same."
Harris Miller has the support of many Virginia Senators, Delegates and Councilmen who represent the real power base in Virgnina. They know who is the right pick for Virginia. Why doesn't Webb have the support of more Virginia Democratic politicians?
Here's an inconvenient truth for you Webb supporters. Webb wants to build more nuclear power plants. Do you want one built in Loudoun County or anywhere in Virginia or west of us? I surely don't.
We stopped building nuclear power plants over 20 years ago for some very good reasons. To date, those reasons haven't changed. Nuclear power is not safer, is not economical, and is still a terrible choice.
Guess what happens to spent fuel rods? They get made into more illegal depleted uranium WMDs. We already made Iraq into an uninhabitable toxic radioactive wasteland for the next 5 billion years. How many more countries must we destroy?
Harris Miller is the only VA Senate candidate that has an intelligent and sane plan to solve the energy crisis using pollution free, environmentally safe, renewable energy sources.
Better go see Al Gore's movie, but first read this:
http://www.miller2006.org/...
As of today, Webb has nothing posted on his website under Issues about solving the energy crisis. How strange, no solutions.
Some believe Webb is better than Harris when it comes to national security, but all Webb has posted on his website is a sound bite critical of the administration:
"America is fighting the wrong war in Iraq. But while we entered this war recklessly, we must leave carefully. This can only be achieved when the administration clearly states that the United States has no long-term plan to occupy Iraq. The Middle East nations in the region must then be engaged, along with our global allies, in finding the solution for the future of Iraq."
Webb only offers criticisms, but no real solutions.
Now compare that to what Miller has posted on his website, a comprehensive, well thought out plan for national security:
http://www.miller2006.org/...
Miller also has posted on his website, clever TV ready commercials critical of George Allen. While Webb has not shown us he can go head to head with Allen and come out on top, let alone with Miller during a debate.
No wonder the Washington Post said Webb was visibly shaken when he called Miller "the Antichrist" and told Miller to "shut up" after the televised debate last week.
Here is the link to the debate:

I could go on and compare other issues, but it is evident that once Webb is finished talking about his father, his son, his father's military record, his son's military record, and of course let's not forget, Webb's own military record, he has little to say about anything else. He talks about himself and tells us what's wrong with Allen and the GOP, while Miller talks about the issues and offers solutions.
With less than three weeks to go until the primary, by posting only two pages of sound bites about the major issues facing Virginians and thus running a farce of a campaign, Webb insults Harris Miller but he especially insults the voters.
Is Webb's platform a big secret? Or is the big secret the fact that he has no credible platform at all? Where's the beef?
Miller on the other hand, has taken the time to carefully post on his website over 20 pages of a well thought out, logical, and a very Democratic Agenda. His campaign is one of substance and real solutions, not one of smoke and mirrors.
Once you compare side by side what these two men really bring to the table, it is very clear that Miller is the only credible choice for Senator, while Webb is simply a no show.
