Good news from the
Rasmussen poll done Oct 1 surveying 1000 likely voters regarding their reaction to first debate. The results:
-Who did better in debate?
-- Kerry 52%
-- Bush 40%
-- Neither 8%
Significatly, the unaffiliated voters in the poll on this question split:
-- Kerry 63%
-- Bush 24%
-Did Debate change your mind about who you would vote for?:
-- Yes 6%
-- No 89%
Not a big change, but the change toward Kerry was 7%, toward Bush only 4%. We don't need a huge change to win. Bringing over 60% of those who changed can make a big difference in closing the gap. One additional piece of data worthy of note: In response to a question regarding how important are the debates, 74% of the unaffiliated thought they were "somewhat" or "very" important (as opposed to only 65% of the GOPers.
