You know-
No matter who gets the nomination (though especially Clark) a Gep Veep spot looks better and better.
Why?
- His graceful exit solicited positives from Republicans- we have them on tape saying he's a good man, man of integrity/character, etc.
- He's from two swing states- MO and, given '88 and '04 campaigns, IA (he may have lost the caucus but Iowans like the guy).
- He brings labor on board, especially for a Clark or Edwards candidacy.
- He would be Clark's Dick Cheney for Legislation- he is a master legislator with bi-partisan respect and no doubt he really could get things done with a Republican Congress.
- He showed he can play the veep attack-dog role.
