I thought it would be nice to start off the New Year by blasting MSNBC daytime for the ridiculous way they present the news. I woke up late this morning to the annoying voice of Monica Crowley "interviewing" the adoreable 9 year old reporter for Scholastic News.
Now to begin with let me say that I am no fan of Hillary Clinton but... this Monica Crowley, the former groupie for Richard Nixon, who is an "anchor" on MSNBC daytime is a pure partisan Republican hack, not a journalist at all. It seems that Chelsea Clinton does not do interviews with the media, so when this little girl whose name escapes me asked Chelsea, at an event in Iowa, for a comment Chelsea declined, explaining to the "reporter" that she does not do interviews.
The MSM of course ran immediately with the story of how Chelsea "snubbed a nine-year-old", according to Wolf Blizer on CNN last night. So this morning I guess, Monica thought it would be cool to bring the little girl on the set and ask her about the incident, hoping she could embarrass the Clintons. Monica tried her best to represent that Chelsea was playing the big bad wolf to the reporters little red riding hood, but no dice. Monica spoke to this girl in a tone reserved only for people who have never had any contact with children whatsoever. To say that she was talking down to this child would be the ultimate understatement. Monica was speaking to this "reporter" as if she were the most adoreable little moron who ever walked the planet.
With a sickly sweet affect Monica asked "Is it okay if someone says no to an interview with you?" "Yes" says the reporter. "Does it make you feel sad or do you think your being treated like an adult reporter" "It makes me feel like a real reporter" says the reporter. Well, these are clearly not the answers that Monica wanted but the interview was concluded nonetheless. (NOTE: These quotes may not be entirely accurate as I am relying on my memory of the interview and not from notes or transcripts)
The most memorable of the quotes from this young journalist and I think it was last night on Wolf Blizer was, describing her encounter with Chelsea, she said, "She was really pretty and very nice to me". It is a good example of what is wrong with our entire electoral process that the media will be driven by a non-story like this instead of spending their time on the important issues that face us.
Monica Crowley was fired from MSNBC once before when she did a horrible job opposite Ron Reagan on MSNBC Coast to Coast and from time to time they bring her in to anchor dead spots in their schedule, but in my opinion she should be dumped outright. Her coverage of the "news" is completely biased and her affect is insulting and above all else she should be kept away from children because she will suck the intelligence right out of them. HAPPY NEW YEAR Y"all
