Ok boys and girls, things are going to get very nasty (As is the case on first post in the Recommended Diaries) no matter who we pick Clinton, Obama, or Edwards.
Hope is all we have. Just lets agree one thing, Obama's "naivete" is hoax.
From his electrifying speech at the Democratic National Convention in the last election, to his spectacular speech a night ago, the Obama phenomenon requires both reflection and understanding.
Let me start by saying, I like all of them, from Gravel to Richardson, from Clinton to Obama, from Edwards to Dennis the man, and very sad that Dodd and Biden went-out early.
Now....
He was made for this.......Obama that is.....
His early years activism started and took root at Occidental College and when he moved to Chicago's South Side this was a man that had a mission that we can all dream. This mission is here, I don't think Hillary or the GOP can stop this train right now....
Now, just think about Obama/Webb 08 ! One is our rock star in 2006 and the one who drew tens of thousands in 07 and treated like a rock star. Since 2004; mere few years, Obama has leaped to national attention than any other we have seen. They say, this is media creation, they say he has no chance, they said, Clinton will crush him....NOW we say, WHAT NOW. This is a hope that U can't stop. I'm only in my early twenties and this election surely will be one for the history books and we can not go wrong on picking the same people again which I think Clinton represents.
"It's really not something I'm looking for, I'll say that," in a recent Associated Press interview when asked whether he would consider a spot on a 2008 Democratic ticket." Jim Webb said, I really like what I'm doing right now," he said. "And, of course, nobody's even mentioned it to me anyway, so I don't think it's right for me to even speculate on something like that."
Yeah, Sir leave the speculation to us. Obama should pick you, you sir is why we work hard, why we hope, why we stand tall and strong for ideals that have been destroyed by righties. U sir is the only one I have seen who has the guts to stand up both the pulpit media and your no-nonsense ex-Marine talk with Bush would give you double HOLLA HOLLA from me and many others around the country. Kudos to standing up sir.
Some may say DEM SOLDIER its not over, so U sh*mbag slow down....that's OK....but this is my take and you have yours.
Edwards lost 'cause the UNIONS: Don't kid yourselves on this, no matter what we say about our candidates, he's our best, he is our best progressive candidate who has proposed original and specific plans to solve a lot of our problems that we are facing, but the media and UNIONS have worked against him. Which is very sad. Elizabeth’s announcement about the cancer did not help. I still hope he comes back and wins in NH. Man, the day "IF" he drops-out will be hard day for us all. This is why we should not worry about only winning, which is the only reason Clinton is even that high in the polls, but ideals of the party which Edwards represents most highly should still be first, and I would still even go as far as to to stay vote for Edwards on Tuesday.
Going back to Obama/Webb....Many will argue both may not have international security and Biden is the save pick, I say that's surely crap and media and GOP creation. We should attack this notion like our life depends on. Being governor of a state doesn't give one more security policies and on terrorism which the way the economy is going may not even be the top agenda come in Nov. None of the GOP running have any lick of International crisis management. As was the case on both Clinton or Bush II they had none, so this must be attacked with fierce refutation. Second, don't get me wrong, Biden will be OK and if its true about the deal between him and Obama on the eve of the Iowa caucus....Biden should be picked....Still they will be great.
