The harder they fought to outlaw drugs, the worse the problem became. The more money they spent on the drug war, the worse the problem became. The reason why I refer to the failed War on Drugs in the past tense is because it's beyond lost it's hopeless. How much more evidence do they need before they realize that America has lost the unsuccessful War on Drugs? It would be hard for a Blind Cave Fish not to see the obvious , that our drug laws have failed miserably. How long has the war on drugs been a failure well the Society for the Prevention of Crime declared it unsuccessful 91 years ago !
"The ultimate solution of this stupendous problem may require that all habit forming drugs shall be manufactured or distributed by the Federal Government, which might then better trace and limit the sale and consumption of them, is one of the far-reaching suggestions made by the society".
Society of Crime Prevention
January 25, 1917
In 1917 the Society of Crime Prevention recognized that the failed War on Drugs was nothing but a misguided crime creation program and that's exactly what it remains today a century later. Why should we have to put bars on our windows over a long failed policy thrust upon this nation by bureaucrats and moral crusaders a 100 years ago? Why should we as taxpayers have to fund this failure another day longer? The politicians need to realize it's past time to derail the drug war gravy train we simply can't afford this kind of wasteful spending.

"They’re locking them up today
They’re throwing away the key
I wonder who it’ll be tomorrow, you or me?"
The Red Telephone (LOVE, 1967)
Since the early 1990's the violent crime rates have steadily declined in this country yet our prison population is at record highs not only for the United States but for the entire world.
"Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we're being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I'm liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That's what's insane about it."
John Lennon
I personally think Barack Obama would make an excellent President I just hope and pray he will lead us out of the failed war on drugs. The only logical thing to do is to start WAGING WAR ON CRIME, NOT DRUGS.
