Good morning all. I must admit that I was surprised that Sen. Clinton won last night, but am glad that the race is still on. However, I think that there is something that keeps getting forgotten in the whole process:
Delegate counts!
Current Delegate counts via MSNBC.
Given Sen. Obama's strong victory in Iowa last week and Sen. Clinton's win last night, only one delegate separates the two right now.
Looking at the current count shows that John Edwards is still in the race. two states have cast some votes and we are lucky that many of us will get a chance to 'speak' in this process.
Delegate allocation and Super Tuesday
I, for one, am glad that New Hampshire scrambled the race a bit. I'd like the race to remain scrambled until March, so my vote counts as well. But that is neither here nor there.
The point of this is simple; nothing has been decided despite what the pundits may be saying. Barack Obama has 25 delegates, Hillary Clinton has 24, and John Edwards has 18.
Needed to win: 2209.
In the end its the delegates that matter and that race is very close in the early stages.
