Yes, I'm pissed at Kerry's email endorsing Obama. Not because he did it, but why he did it.
jump...
Here's the nut from Kerry's email:
With Barack, we can build a new majority of Americans from all regions who can turn the page on the politics of Karl Rove and begin a new politics, one worthy of our nation's history and promise.
- John Kerry
John Kerry is the very last person on the face of the earth who can credibly say this. Kerry's singular failing was his inability to locate his balls in the face of the Rovian Swift Boat shit storm, and his answer now is to rise above Karl Rove?
Wrong answer, Sen. Kerry. If you want to support Obama, great. But find a less embarrassing reason.
Many of us made huge sacrifices to support John Kerry, and until this very moment, I have given him every benefit of the doubt that he did the very best job he could have. Now, I find out that we were duped. His comment now makes clear that he didn't face down GOP attacks because he hoped to rise above Karl Rove (and he wants to a replay!).
I've noted that many (most?) of Obama's critics, deep inside, want him to become a stronger candidate who can learn to eat Republicans for breakfast. He could be a great president if he acquires the skills to face down the Roves and economic criminals who will certainly launch more flak than he currently imagines.
Many of us want Obama to reject, rather than embrace the DC establishment let's-get-along convention of Kerry's reasoning.
Kerry's rationale is precisely the wrong message to send to the Obama campaign.
This now illuminates that IA did us no favors in '04 for giving us Kerry instead of Dean, Edwards or Clark, all of whom are better men, and better fighters. It also illuminates the sentiments we've seen in DC since Pelosi and Reed took over.
I hate to realize this, but the GOP was right: Kerry is a wimp. And I really fucking hate when the GOP is right.
Reject the message contained in Kerry's endorsement, Sen. Obama. We are in this situation in no small part because Kerry could not locate his balls. And he's advising you to do more of the same.
Oh, and you can unsubscribe from Kerry's spam, too.
