As 2008 starts to unfold, many questions will come into play. Events will unfold, stories will be told, alliances and rivalries will be forged and life will march on in a heartbeat.
I will go on to list a few key events in the history of our country since 2000. I will not bother with links because most of the folks who read this diary will know what I'm referring to.
It's mainly a reflection.
Since 2000, our country has been controlled by a thief and his cabal of thugs, liars and national traitors. You don't even have to second-guess who I'm talking about. They have been aided and abetted by an equally unsavory group of traitors: right-wing bandits (pundits isn't derogatory enough) posing as our mainstream media.
After 9/11, our government decided it would sacrifice freedom for security, which gave us the USA Patriot Act, the destruction of habeas corpus and greater powers for government to spy on its' own citizens.
We were promised that Osama Bin Laden would be caught. It's now 2008 and where's Osama?
In 2003, we were lead into a war with Iraq under dubious circumstances, mainly alleged weapons of mass destruction. Those WMDs were never found and it wasn't long before Saddam was toppled and end up in a hole. In 2006, we hung him out to dry (literally).
It's been a very rough 8 years under the rule of our Liar in Chief. The economy is teetering on the edge of ruins and we are still stuck in Iraq in what seems to be a never-ending war.
Hope won out over Fear in November of 2006 when Democrats regained a narrow victory in the Senate. It's been a rocky road since then but we must never lose hope.
With our current election year well underway, we must work to bring change to America. We must work to lead America out of the abyss that Bush has created and onward to a path of respect and greatness once again.
I continue to stand behind John Edwards as the man who can bring about real change.
And no matter who we support for candidates, we must remember that we are all in this together. The failure to accomplish the 50 state strategy will be catastrophic. We must work together to reject the cultural of corruption that dominates Washington. We must work together to show Terry McAuliffe and Mark Penn that they are not welcome in Democratic politics.
To the Hillary supporters, go ahead. A vote for Obama or a vote for Edwards will go further.
Regardless, America will be led out of this abyss and into the light once again. Working together to ensure a Democratic victory, we shall overcome!
We...shall...overcome!
