Mike Huckabee recently made some outrageous statements, big surprise right? Well, I think they should only add to our fear of a Huckabee presidency. I don't care if he were the most economically liberal man alive, with these social views, progressives should never even consider him. And to those who would not vote for Hillary Clinton in a potential matchup against him, please reconsider allowing this man to be become president.
Here's is exactly what he said:
QUESTIONER: Is it your goal to bring the Constitution into strict conformity with the Bible? Some people would consider that a kind of dangerous undertaking, particularly given the variety of biblical interpretations.
HUCKABEE: Well, I don’t think that’s a radical view to say we’re going to affirm marriage. I think the radical view is to say that we’re going to change the definition of marriage so that it can mean two men, two women, a man and three women, a man and a child, a man and animal. Again, once we change the definition, the door is open to change it again. I think the radical position is to make a change in what’s been historic.

In one fell swoop he managed to equate Homosexuality to pedophilia, polygamy, and bestiality. The same old tired arguments against gay marriage. If we allow the scary gays to marry, we will soon be forced to allow a man to marry a goat! Run for your lives!! Possibly the MOST asinine and intellectually inept argument out there against Gay Marriage. But unfortunately one of many. While I recognize none of our frontrunners support gay marriage, I'd say there is a world of difference between reasonable people and this dangerous extremist disguising himself as a likable southerner.
Of Course, this comes after a string of insensitive, socially extremist views from Mike Huckabee. (i.e: women should be submissive, equating Homosexuality to necrophilia, amending The Constitution to reflects God's will? isolating AIDS patients, the list goes on...)
This paragraph says it all:
The narrow-mindedness extends beyond abortion and gay rights. As an unsuccessful U.S. Senate candidate in 1992, Huckabee advocated isolating AIDS patients from the general public and has not retracted that statement. In that same campaign, he opposed using women in combat or giving workers unpaid time off for the birth of a child or health issues - a year before Congress passed the Family and Medical Leave Act. He still supports teaching creationism in the public schools.

Some say they will stay home in November and allow this man to become our president, some say if Hillary is the nominee they have no reason to vote. Well, next time you look at a strong woman, a member of the gay community, or any decent American, and you have to tell them you were part of tearing down their dignity and self worth, come back and let me know if it was worth it.
