This is a hit piece with no holds barred. It is coming from my gut and these same emotions will be coming from the guts of many Democrats.
Thank you to grannyhelen for her very important diary about Barack Obama and his view of what was good and what was bad about the last 48 years. You can gh’s entire diary entitled "Why Obama’s Comment Stings My Soul" at: http://www.dailykos.com/... .
And, you can see the underlying conversation that Obama had with some Nevada journalists at http://news.rgj.com/...
Volume is a little low at first but it gets better.

Grannyhelen was upset by Obama’s not having a clue how incendiary the name and policies of Ronald Reagan can be when he metaphorically compared himself to the despicable Republican hate monger (my label). I agreed with grannyhelen but when I watched the entire video at lunch, I became furious with Obama, those who blindly support him and their delusions of grandeur of this Reagan wannabe.
Grannyhelen diaried the following quote from the interviewed linked above.
I don't want to present myself as some sort of singular figure. I think part of what's different are the times. I do think that for example the 1980 was different. I think Ronald Reagan changed the trajectory of America in a way that Richard Nixon did not and in a way that Bill Clinton did not. He put us on a fundamentally different path because the country was ready for it. I think they felt like with all the excesses of the 1960s and 1970s and government had grown and grown but there wasn't much sense of accountability in terms of how it was operating. I think people, he just tapped into what people were already feeling, which was we want clarity we want optimism, we want a return to that sense of dynamism and entrepreneurship that had been missing.
This guy Obama is one arrogant jerk who has no idea what everyone else’s life has been about. He talks of changing paradigms, which is complete BS. His ignoring the horrible things Reagan and his elitist pigs did is totally offensive. But by giving Reagan kudos, he perpetuates his political progeny, scum like George W. Bush, Rush Limbaugh, Dick Cheney, O’Reilly and you know the crew. He gives them credibility. Is that what we need to do? No, it is not!!!
Below is a posting I wrote in grannyhelen’s diary right after I watched the Obama video. I am reposting it here because that diary seemed to run it’s course and when I wrote the comment below it was followed by maybe another 20 comments after it fell off the recommended list.
I watched the enitre 49 minute video
so as not to take anything out of context and I am really angry now. Obama mentions how Reagan changed the trajectory but he also said in that same discussion that he is not invested in the excesses of the 60s and the 70s. His concerns are not the same as the baby boomers' concerns and that the older people are draining the medical system because 20% of the population is costing 80% of the total outlay.
Today I say to Obama, F__ Y__ and the horse you rode in on!
The excesses of the 60s, Mr. Obama, built America, allowed you to run for president, allowed many poor Black and Hispanic Americans to have a chance to rise to the levels where they belong, it allowed American business to be the envy of the world, sent a man to the moon, built a wonderful science infrastructure and allowed women to have a life after they got the vote. The excesses, you ass___, were in the 80s and the 2000s.
I am disgusted with Obama, who has the arrogance to think there is nobody like him; how he can quickly assess situations and come up with solutions. This guy is on too big a fucking head trip, thanks to the press, Dreamworks and Oprah. I am sending out this information to all the baby boomers I know. You know the people who are causing this country so many problems and who soon should look to euthanasia so as to let pricks like Obama have more money.
I don't trust Obama and I don't like him and I hope many others see this phony bastard for what he is.
Some of you might find this posting offensive, well I find Obama offensive and I think it is time for everyone to wake up and smell the roses about him.
I saw this in Obama before now buy his voting to confirm Rice and the fact that he wouldn’t join in the attempted filibuster of Alito. However, as angry as I was I was still keeping an open mind until now.
I would not work for nor would I vote for Obama if he becomes the nominee. He’s a traitor to 58 years of the trials and tribulations of the Democratic Party and those of us whose hopes and dreams rose and fell hard after too many elections. Obama is not an answer like Joe Lieberman is not an answer and I don’t want him in the White House. He may have fooled a lot of very gullible Americans but not me and not many of the Dkos contributors. I’d rather let a Republican screw things up so that we can go after him in 2012 before I’d vote for Obama.
