What does Hillary Clinton's latest robocall in Nevada say about her? What will it say about us if we elect her? Of course, a smoking gun has not yet been found. The smoking gun for the Swifties was never found.
With Edwards not gathering much support in Nevada, the Democratic Primary is down to Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. And in a desperate, disgusting robocall scandal in Nevada the Clinton camp again has shown what they are about. This new Clinton robocall scandal (see below) would make Bush and Rove proud!
Put aside our big white elephant that Hillary Clinton, the self-proclaimed advancer of women, simply would not be in this race if she had not provided cover over and over again for her husband's illegal sexual harassment and worse of several women. Her latest robocall scandal is attack politics just like how Bush and Rove stole the Republican Presidential Primary in 2000 by smearing McCain with false push calls that McCain had an illegitimate black child and similar lies.
The part of Hillary Clinton's robocall accusing Barack Obama of taking money from lobbyists isn't just a lie (he has not done that in this campaign), it's downright hypocritical. Hillary Clinton is the only major Democratic candidate to take lobbyist money this Presidential campaign. She has gorged down a ton of cash from Washington lobbyists and says, unbelievably, that there will be no payback so that all these lobbyists are just stupidly throwing tons of their money on her. Give me a break! The part of her robocall trying to associate Obama with Saddam Hussein or Muslims is just plain disgusting and outrageous.
Just like Bush, Hillary Clinton does not understand that the means do not justify the ends. As I have written, she has proven that she cannot learn from, much more admit her mistakes, like supporting Bush's war in Iraq followed by supporting his warmongering resolution just a few months ago declaring Iran's military to be "terrorists" - technically a declaration of war against Iran. http://www.dailykos.com/...
Hillary Clinton cannot see that her being elected President does not justify whatever means she thinks are necessary, whether it is diminishing the legacy of Dr. King for her political gain, saying students in Iowa should not be allowed to vote, trying to smear Obama with drug charges or being Muslim (many in her campaign have done that), falsely telling New York voters that Obama does not support Israel (for better or worse he does - see http://www.nysun.com/... ), trying to scare voters into believing terrorists will strike if we elect Obama, and now this latest outrageous stunt.
This latest robocall is far from an isolated incident. Do we have the smoking gun yet? No. Hillary, however, has been shamed into firing many in her campaign so far for spreading similar lies that Obama is a Muslim and other outrageous divisive smears as described above. More likely will come out of this. It is interesting that I don't hear any immediate denunciations or disassociations from the Clintons or their campaign. In view of this lack of a denunciation and the "experienced" Hillary Clinton track record (not to mention the records of her advisors like Mark Penn), it is naive of Hillary Clinton supporters to expect us to believe that Clinton and her campaign had nothing to do with this.
Bush has shown us where the low road leads. Lower and lower and lower until we are all someplace really not good, like wasting the blood of our youth and our hard-earned taxed incomes fighting a needless war in Iraq while over forty million Americans go without health insurance.
It's up to us to send a message this election that it is not "false hope" to reject traditional "experienced" politicians waging attack politics in favor of the politics of hope and change. It's not a coincidence that JFK's trusted advisors so strongly support Obama (who by the way despite Clinton's charges that he is inexperienced has held elected office far longer than her and will be older than both JFK and Bill Clinton when he becomes President).
Obama is strongly endorsed by Ted Sorensen, JFK's advisor who quoted Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. in JFK's inauguration speech "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." Sorensen wrote again last Summer: "Democrats in 1960, like today, wanted a winner--and Kennedy, despite his supposed handicaps, was a winner. On civil rights, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the race to the moon, and other issues, President Kennedy succeeded by demonstrating the same courage, imagination, compassion, judgment, and ability to lead and unite a troubled country that he had shown during his presidential campaign. I believe Obama will do the same." http://davideisenthal.typepad.com/...
We can do this. America can do this. America can elect Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton. Think about this and what it means to vote for hope versus voting scared again. Please do. Talk to others about it. America can change, just like it has so many times in the past under JFK, FDR and others. We can break out of the Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton shared cycle of power. If we can't change, or if our idea of change is just another leg in the Bush Clinton cycle, then what does that say about us? What are we? What have we become?
We can change. Yes we can. We can unify. Yes we can.

"Robocall trashes "Barack Hussein Obama"
The Obama campaign has released a recording (mp3) it says came from a Nevadan's answering machine of an anonymous robocall that criticizes Obama for taking money from special interests while repeating, four times, his rarely used middle name: "Hussein."
"I'm calling with some important information about Barack Hussein Obama," the call begins, before saying that "Barack Hussein Obama says he doesn't take money from Washington lobbyists or special interest groups but the record is clear that he does."
After mentioning his full name once more, the call concludes:
"You just can't take a chance on Barack Hussein Obama."
