I'm breaking diary rules most likely, but it's in the interest of calling attention to and reminding others of a very interesting tool I used in 2004 -- Electoral-Vote.com.
The creator of this tool is a US citizen living outside of the country and a computer science prof, I believe. He uses his math savvy to "map" what he thinks is a compilation of US state vote polls in federal presidential elections. And he literally uses a US map to illustrate his outcomes.
At minimum his results have been interesting, and they have also been historically fairly accurate....although often disappointingly so.
More + Link after the fold.
Today, I believe, is his first posting of candidate electoral comparisons. He's started by comparing Hillary and McCain. To some people's joy and others' dismay he's finding Hillary losing. Tomorrow he will compare Obama and McCain.
Right now, he's calling Hillary a front-runner, only because she's favored by many to win the big states on Feb 5th.
And he places a large caveat on anything he states on his web site: We could meet our spouse, marry and have a baby before the November election. In other words, many things can change between now and then.
And now, the moment you've all been waiting for:
