I have to teach in exactly ten minutes so I'll be (mercifully) brief. Those expecting another attack on my least favorite candidate can relax. It's done and sitting in the publish drawer.
There's some good news that I wanted to pass along, first. As some of you may or may not know, my background included communication and advertising. I spoke just a few ago with one of Canada's top media specialists who, like me, can't stand Obama.
We were discussing the scope of the challenge cleaning up after Bush, his background is economics. I voiced my fears that Obama wouldn't win a single state if he survived. And that HRC would split the party. McCain was ahead in the polls, what about Romney?
He told me not to get my knickers in a twist. The Republicans have been running against Dems from the beginning. Dems are attacking each other. The polls reflect that. Once voters start to see saturation ads of McCain contradicting himself, or Mitt flip-flopping, or Huck's looniness, Dems will win. Not in a walk, but Dems will win.
He's right, IMHO. This is no time to lose sight of the big picture. Dems haven't even started to attack Republicans. And there are plenty of targets of opportunity across the landscape. Three weeks is nothing. Scrap away. I know I will. But don't forget that nobody wants four more years of this. Dems are going to win.
