First, this is a diary to thank Senator Chris Dodd for leading the fight against the despicable FISA bill that included retroactive immunity for lawbreaking telecoms. We should all be happy that we have yet again, and against all probability, defeated that odious, authoritarian bill.
Let's hear it for the rule of law!
So, how can we incent more behavior like that? How can we make sure that Senator Chris Dodd continues his crusade on our behalf and on behalf of our Constitution?
If you don't already know, follow me to find out.
On January 16, I received an email from Senator Dodd requesting assistance for retiring debt from his presidential campaign. I think this is a most appropriate time to reward his efforts on our behalf by helping him. We shouldn't want him to become vulnerable to donations by others that want to buy him off using his debt.
Therefore, I believe we should give him some money so that he is back in the black, and ready to continue protecting our Constitution. If you believe as I do, please join me in giving Dodd some love to retire his campaign debt. After all, if he hadn't been running for president, it is unlikely that he would have been heard on the topic.
Help retire Chris Dodd's debt!
Thanks Senator, for all you have done!
Update - to be completely clear, I am not, nor have I ever been, a part of the Dodd for President campaign in any capacity.
Update #2 - note that the link directly from this diary is the same as that from http://chrisdodd.com/ in the center top of the page - so it is the legitimate site to visit for donations to Dodd's presidential campaign debt retirement. Thanks!
