Hi. Live from Boston here.
I just voted! If you did too, maybe you want to say something about it. Let's have an open thread for those who want to to share. Record turnout is expected across Super Tuesday states even despite the bad weather (it is cool and rainy here in MA)
I have a question about MA and ballot position... on my ballot Hillary had a good 2nd position and Obama had an unfortunate bottom one. See below... anyone know if all ballots in MA are the same candidate order?
I should add that I voted for Obama on only four hours' sleep, having come back late from that amazing rally downtown here in Boston.
Voting felt great... but as an Obama voter i felt concerned about ballot order. My candidate menu looked like this:
JOHN EDWARDS
HILLARY CLINTON
JOSEPH BIDEN
CHRISTOPHER DODD
MIKE GRAVEL
BARACK OBAMA
DENNIS KUCINICH
... and two or three other fringe candidates.
Does anyone know if the ballot order is the same, statewide, for all voters, or do they randomize it? Hillary has a great position and Barack doesn't, being sandwiched down there between the two candidates nobody takes seriously.
And maybe the real question is, how much does ballot-position help or hurt a candidate? 1 or 2 points? 3 or 4 points? Just curious.
Anyway it felt great, and I will now report to work and try to behave and be somewhat productive today. That'll be a challenge.
Please share your voting experiences!
Update: at RenaRF's suggestion, here is a POLL:
