Let's see. After tonight, 26 states have held Democratic primaries or caucuses (excluding Michigan/Florida which is a whole 'nother ball of wax).
Obama has won in the Midwest, Plains, Mountain West, and part of the Deep South along with a couple Northeast states. Namely:
AK +46
AL +14
CO +31
CT +4
DE +10
GA +31
IA +9
ID +66
IL +32
KS +46
MO +1
MN +35
ND +24
SC +29
UT +12
Look at that. 15 states out of 26 -- with NM to be determined, and it could be his 16th. And look at some of those margins.
In the 26 states decided to date, he may be ahead in the delegate count but we won't know for certain until tomorrow.
I heard a lot of concern about how Obama wasn't picking up steam with Latino/Hispanic voters. He sure did with white voters tonight, though ! He is still being introduced to much of the nation, many forget.
And I hope he can do better with Latino/Hispanic voters, but . . . I am curious: Of the remaining states, which ones have significant Latino/Hispanic populations? Texas comes to mind, obviously. But after that, are there any others?
No matter what, this whole thing has been amazing. Just amazing. Obama is up against the former First Lady who has 100% name recognition and a former President getting down & dirty on her behalf.
Think about it.
Who among even the most rabid Obama supporter thought he would be where he is now?
My state holds its open primary in two weeks, on Feb 19 - holy crap, it might matter this time!
I better get off-line and get to work . . .
