Can't you just feel it? I feel it. On Tuesday red state Idaho quadrupled the attendees of caucus attendees from '04. 21,000 attended. More were turned away by space limitations or avalanches.
I stood in front of the Ada County caucus venue for 2 hours shaking the hands of people who were not prodded, paid or persuaded to attend. They were there because they wanted to be there. It was the largest caucus in the USA. In Boise, Idaho.
Something is afoot in Idaho. Every county, no matter how small or conservative had a caucus. Every county, no matter the weather conditions or the distance to drive had a caucus.
Idaho is turning purple. Idahoans want to take their state, country and government back.
There is more political activity than anyone has seen in decades and November will seal the deal.
I started my race for the U.S. Senate 9 months ago because I knew Idahoans were tired of one point of view. The state changes everyday, demographically and politically. The caucuses showed the huge potential for a pickup of this open seat in the U.S. Senate.
We are feeling a seismic shift in Idaho and it started recently in Colorado with the electin of Senator Ken Salazar and in Montana when Senator Jon Tester was elected.
Idaho wisely moved up its caucus date to Super Tuesday and Senator Barack Obama responded. He knew he would send a message that red states mattered. His advance team set up the Taco Bell Arena for 8,500. 14,000+ showed up and 2,000 were turned away or listened to him from loudspeakers in the bitter cold.
We have great candidates running for my old congressional seat in the 1st District. The DCCC has taken notice. I am the only Democrat running for the U.S. Senate in this open seat. The DSCC has taken notice. The GOP primary has 9 running for the U.S. Senate nomination nd it could turn ugly.
We are poised to pick up a seat in the U.S. States Senate from Idaho and make political history. Join me. Join us in Idaho.
Can't you just feel it? The country is alive with Democrats, Independents and moderate Republicans who want their country back. No longer are they on the sidelines. Idaho is no exception.
Thanks.
