This is my first diary. I don’t even comment often – in fact I really should say I NEVER comment, except for a few exceptions. I use dailykos mainly to read interesting and relevant diaries and postings and keep up to date on progressive political issues in America. Sometimes I’ll go through the comments of an interesting diary but they generally seem to go quickly off-track and I usually get bored and move on. I can be a little impatient.
I’m a Canadian. And, more importantly, I’m a big-ass Liberal. That doesn’t mean I have a big ass, by the way – just in case you were wondering. I’ll tell you what that means to me. It means EVERYONE is inherently equal and should be treated as such. I might not get along with you, but I sure as hell want you to have excellent health care, just like me. You may not have the same religious beliefs I have but I sure as hell want you to have enough food to eat and a stable roof over your head – just like me. Your family may have only a fraction of the money mine has, but I sure as hell want you to have the same educational opportunities I have.
I’m a lucky guy. Life’s been pretty decent to me. Like everyone, I’ve had problems – but they really do pale in comparison to those who go hungry... those who get sick without care... the neglected and forgotten members of our society. Why do we let it go on?? In our own backyards and the rest of the world? It’s appalling.
I won’t have the privilege of voting in your upcoming election – but it’s an exciting time for me anyway, as I cheer for a better America... as I long for a better world.
I strongly believe that Hillary Clinton, if elected, would likely make some moderate changes for the betterment of the United States.
But would she could she affect changes for the betterment of the world?
America needs a leader that can inspire the world to come together at this critical time in History. This is the kind of leader that the U.S.A. should be electing now.
I believe Barack Obama to be just that leader.
You really have two choices – it’s crystal clear in my view – you can have more or less the same style of governing for another eight long years, with a political system working only in the interest of big business – OR you can seize this amazing opportunity and be a part of this incredible moment in history and elect a true leader of the 21st century. You can elect someone who can inspire the world and change America’s tattered image into a strong, progressive, honest, ethical, enlightened powerhouse that can unite the world together and steer this planet back on course.
Did I say you have two choices? Do you really??
