According to CNN Ticker Clinton has decided that she must go negative in Wisconsin to stop Obama's momentum. She just released ads attacking Obama for refusing to debate her in Wisconsin (!) After at least 18 debates to date between the democratic candidates, and with at least two more scheduled, (one in Austin and one in Ohio) this seems petty and more than a little desperate. Let's hope it backfires on her.
For a campaign as low on money as hers is apparently, to waste money on such a silly ad seems to add credence to the questions of mismanagment and poor decision making that's been in the media as of late about Hillaryland. Who's decision was it to go negative? Is this what we get to look forward to with Michelle Williams, the new campaign manager?
Even if you think at this point Clinton HAS to go negative to blunt some of Obama's momentom, do you really want to do it with such a mind-numbingly dumb premise like the refusal to debate? Who really cares if they have 20 debates or 23 debates? Don't they have CNN in Wisconsin? NPR? MSNBC? Surely people have seen enough debates already. I suspect that she doesn't score any points with this ad because it reaks of desperation and, to be quite frank, silliness. So much for her decision making skills and her political sensibilities. Can't she sense the mood of the country? Hasn't she learned yet that voters are tired of the kind of irrelavant and petty distractions that have marked so many of past elections? Surely it won't work this time. Or will it?
