Nebraska Television reports:
All 3 of Nebraska's representatives joined a Republican boycott of a vote to hold two presidential confidants in contempt.
The officials did not cooperate with an inquiry into whether federal prosecutors were ousted for political reasons.
Most Republicans walked out of the chamber Thursday just before the 223-32 vote, including Nebraska's Lee Terry, Jeff Fortenberry and Adrian Smith.
Republicans say Democrats should use their time to extend a law - set to expire Saturday - about how the government monitors phone calls and e-mails of suspected terrorists.
Terry says House leadership "would rather spend their time holding White House officials in contempt rather than holding terrorists in contempt."
First of all, since Congressman Terry is so concerned about getting the law extended it is too bad he voted against H.R. 5349 (it failed) which would have extended the Protect America Act of 2007 for another 21 days while Congress works on a compromise. The Republicans, including Terry, (who always does what he is told...) are trying to bend the Democratic Congress to there will with obstructionist tactics like this.
Now, instead of actually debating the issues like adults the Republicans walk out because they do not agree with what is being debated! What a joke.
I hope that the Democratic Congress continues to stand up to these obstructionist tactics. But the people of Nebraska's Second Congressional District need to ask themselves if this is what they elected Lee Terry to do.
Futhermore, what does this accomplish? How does this help real Americans deal with real issue. It doesn't! All this is cheap political theater. Stunts like this are the reason Lee Terry should not be given a sixth (count'em sixth) term in Congress. We deserve better.

P.S. Carter is the only candidate running against Terry hence TW's support.
