Check out what Blue Gal said On The Whole Obama Cult Thing.

What she said, and said better.

I'm not drinking anyone's kool-aid. I know better. Obama gets a brief honeymoon period from me from now until election. After election, if that occurs, he gets 100 days to get something actually accomplished. If he does not, I will begin to grumble. He gets two months after that to get stuff done, and if he doesn't, then I'll really start screaming. I will not be the only one. That's called holding your elected officials accountable for their actions.

I felt the same way about the Congressional Elections of November 2006 and I will respond the same way I did to them if he acts the same way they acted then and have acted up until this point.

Here's what Eugene Robinson on Friday What he said about the actions of one Clinton, Bill and Clinton, Hillary.

What he said, and what goes along with what I said I said then.

Here's what Paul of Tarsus said,

"Love is patient; love is kind
and envies no one.

Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;
never selfish, not quick to take offense.

There is nothing love cannot face;
there is no limit to its faith,
its hope,
and endurance.

In a word, there are three things that last forever: faith, hope, and love;
but the greatest of them all is love."

Here's what Thom Yorke of Radiohead said

After years of waiting
nothing came
as your life flashed before your eyes

You realise.

and here's what He and I say to certain Kossacks.

I'm a reasonable man
Get off
Get off
Get off my case.

After years of waiting
Nothing came

And you realize you're looking
looking in the wrong place

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  Candidate Envy Drives Democrates to Despair! (0+ / 0-)

    After eight straight years of presidential election losses, the thought of having a candidate inspiring enough to draw the Democratic base, millions of new voters, Independents, and some Republicans is just too much for some Democrats to take. Why not My Candidate? they ask. Why? Why?

    Don't mind them. Let's keep pushing. Sooner or later, some Democrats are going to realize they're on the wrong side of the gates.

      . . .that Obama has attracted any independents or Republicans.  Crossovers in primaries mean nothing.  You say "We Are the Change We Seek" has universal, overwhelming appeal.  I think he is vague, sounds like he is in a revival tent, has experience that consists of the Illinois legislature (useful as a professorship at Hamburger U. for presidential experience--150 years after Lincoln) and running for president as a senator for three whole years.  He is also under the mistaken impression that he will be received as a transcending figure by any foreign leaders.  I am not buying.

    ....the last cult I was in.  All I got from the last cult was a brand new pair of Nikes, which quicly took a walk to broke in, only to return to find out I had missed the spaceship.  They sucked really.  It was always, "spaceship this, and spaceship that.".  Screw the spaceship, all I need is hope, and new pair of Nikes.

    I know it takes a lot of courage to point out what an intelligent, independent mind you think you are. Not a lot of people do that, especially around here.

    Stay strong, brother.

  •  Kool-aid drinking (0+ / 0-)

    Ok...I am guilty.  I've drunk some of Obama kool-aid.  But before him, I was drinking the one Edwards provided.  And I have drunk some of the kool-aid Gore, Dean, Kerry provided and if Hillary is our nominee, I  too will be drinking some of the kool-aid she is brewing even if its bitter.
