I am a fairly frequent flier here at Orange but have only written one other diary before today. That was back when I flew to Crawford to tell Bush to go to hell with Cindy.
Now I am about to go vote here in Hawaii and it is my first caucus. I am not even sure what to expect.
All I know is that we Islanders take our voting seriously and that we care deeply about the economy, living where the cost of living is the highest in the Nation and all.
There will be no fancy prose or stinging wit. There will only be one grandmother's feelings about tonight and this historic election year.
I was an Edwards supporter to start and vowed that I would never vote for Hillary. Truth be told that hurts me to say that. I am 55 years old and was hoping to see an excetional woman in the White House but that is not going to happen, imho if Hillary is the nominee. So with Edwards out I have turned my support to Obama.
Barak Obama is getting my vote not for me but for my grandleezy. You see, I don't see much of a change in the future with Hillary. I see more of the same with the big corps and lobby machine getting richer and the middleclass becoming obsolete. I see at least ten or more years of young soldiers loosing their lives for lies. I see another Hillary Care plan failure. So the things that are important to my grandleezy's future are in Obama's hands.
Mr. Obama, please don't let us down. We all need the change you invision for us. You have us all stirred up and ready to go. So on this historic night I will be casting my vote not only for an African American but for the best candidate to lead our country in these desperate times.
