Ben Smith over at Poltico.com reports that on a Hillary camp conference call Mark Penn
downplayed Obama's victories in smaller states as the result of higher spending: "The events of Super Tuesday were very much related to investments," he said.
I sure hope the Obama campaign picks up on this.

The first obvious point here is that spending tons of money did absolutely nothing for Romney’s efforts. So, there is no direct correlation between amount of money spent and votes.
The second obvious point is that if you spend more money and you win, it is because voters have responded to your message. That’s a GOOD thing. It means they like what you’re saying and agree with it enough to go out and do something about it.
Penn is an idiot. As many others have pointed out, this campaign is the largest project Hillary has managed. The fact that it is in shambles says a lot about her poor management abilities.
Ready on Day 1 indeed.
