A quick drive-by diary on an important issue that just won't go away... the White House's apparently illegal mis-use and loss of e-mail.
Today, at 10 am, Henry Waxman will gavel in a meeting of the House Committee on Government Oversight. The subject? The two e-mail scandals at the White House. You know, the RNC accounts used by Karl Rove and senior White House staff to secretly communicate and bypass the government systems. And the "over 5 million emails 'lost' in the new Administration.
I've written extensively about this subject:

Today's witnesses:
Alan R. Swendiman, Director, Office of Administration
Theresa Payton, Chief Information Officer, Office of Administration
The Honorable Allen Weinstein, Archivist of the United States
Gary M. Stern, General Counsel, National Archives and Records Administration
Sharon Fawcett, Assistant Archivist for Presidential Libraries

The emails could hold information about the Valerie Plame case, the Abramoff visits, the US Attorney scandal, the politicization of the bureaucracy. This is an important issue.
